North Carolina Man Charged with Attempted Murder after Shooting 6-Year-Old Girl and Her Family Over a Basketball
A North Carolina man, Robert Louis Singletary, has been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon after allegedly shooting a 6-year-old girl, her parents, and an additional neighbor.[0] The shooting occurred after a basketball rolled into Singletary's yard, and the victims went to retrieve it. Witnesses said Singletary ran out of his home upset and started firing a gun at a neighbor.[1] William White, who had his own gun, tried to shoot back at Singletary, but witnesses say Singletary unloaded an entire magazine at White and his daughter.[1] White was shot in the back in his own front yard, and his daughter, Kinsley, was also seriously hurt.[2] In an emotional interview, Kinsley asked Singletary, “Why did you shoot my daddy and me?
